About Us

We are a husband wife team of a computer programmer and an Educator.  We have been creating curriculum and learning tools for my personal use for more than 20 years.  His passion is creating seamless effective code.  My passion is the light of learning in the eyes of one of my students!  I love teaching and that leads me to needs in curriculum.   As technology has improved and our time has become more limited our projects have shifted to ease of use and how decrease time spent preparing for school.  

As an Educator, I started my career in the Special Education field teaching mild/moderate learning disabled students.  I was frustrated at how difficult it was for regular classroom teachers to differentiate their assignments to provide support for students who “could” but just needed a little help.  That difficulty was better understood as I became a regular classroom teacher and my frustration turned to desperation and then finally inspiration. 

My husband is a genius in the programming world and he became my first defense in finding ways to accommodate those unique learners found in my classroom. I found myself creating and recreating similar activities over and over again.  Teacher’s File Cabinet is a direct result of this statement; “There has to be an easier way to do this!”   I was spending a huge amount of time creating games and activities one by one in a drawing program.  In desperation, I turned to my husband and asked, “Couldn’t you just write a program to do this?  Then every time I run the program I would get a different master.”  The end results are the products that you see on this website.  We are constantly creating and coming up with new ideas to make teaching easier.  Our current project is one that creates table games that are easy to create and are engaging for the students to provide extra practice without using worksheets.  You can look forward to those new products!

Our goal is to ease the burden of stressed out teachers and to share the wealth of teacher proven activities and programs.   We know that teachers are underpaid, overworked and need unlimited and ever changing resources to be effective in the classroom.   We, as teachers, are expected to fill the grand holes and gaps in professionally published curriculum and to meet the needs of every student regardless of circumstances or abilities.  We are being held to a higher standard with less and less.   Hopefully these products will make those expectations easier to meet!

So, for the price of one general curriculum book found at a teacher store you can fine tune your needs and get unlimited unique practice pages and/or activities.  We hope that you download the programs and “play” with them to see if they will meet your needs.  I know that I can’t live without them!
